Spotify announced this morning that it now offers free online radio streaming to Android users (the same service was introduced to iOS users last month). Users now have the option to listen to free streamed tracks within the app if they desire. This Pandora-like service will also host ad free streaming only if the subscriber is paying Spotify’s $9.99 monthly fee. Non-subscribers outside the US will not have access to the feature while premium based subscribers will. Premium subscribers will not have song skip limits, but non-subscribers will have a limit on the amount of songs in which they can skip in each radio station. You can help shape what plays in your station by utilizing the thumbs up and thumbs down buttons.
The App is free to be download in Google Play Store, and it is said Spotify is implementing these changes to compete with its rival, Pandora.
What is your take on Spotify’s move on offering free streaming service? Do you like the change that they are making? Leave your comments and thoughts below.
