Mozilla Shows off its New Prototype iPad Browser [Video]
0In a recent presentation, Mozilla revealed that the company is working on a new browser for Apple’s iPad called Junior.
With Junior, Mozilla is setting out to re-thinks browser user experience from the ground up, making browsing more fun, more ergonomics, especially on a tablet experience. With this mind, Junior for iPad offers a different approach to browsers by offering a full-screen mains-screen experience, abandoning both, the address and search bar from the main screen. Key features are still available by clicking a plus button on the right side of the page to access recently visited pages, bookmarks, and a URL/search bar to type into.
However, like all browsers on Apple’s iOS platform, Junior, will have to follow Apple’s rules and base the browser on Web-kit, rather than have its own engine.
It is still looks like it could be a compelling browser to use, but the company appears to have a lot of work ahead of them before it heads to Apple’s App Store.
